Watching it leave the Building

April was a very busy month for us.  We were able to send out a container of clothing and office chairs to Operation Mobilization .  The clothing will be used in Peru.  We are very thankful for the many groups, churches, and individuals that help sort, box and move the 880 boxes of clothing.  We are especially thankful to the youth group from New Covenant Community Church in Weyers Cave for all their hard work loading the truck and packing the items.

     ETS was able to send volunteer Dave Synder to the TECH (Technical Exchange for Christian Health) conference held at Samaritan's Purse in Boone, North Carolina.  Dave came back with lots of good information and enthusiasm.

      We have been blessed with volunteer groups from Blue Ridge Christian school, the “Fun Bunch”  and 20 people from Blue Ridge Christian Church for their “Compassion in Action” outreach week. They were able to sort OTC (over the counter) medications, box coats, linens, shoes and blankets and do baby bundles as well as our seasonal clothing.

       It’s always an exciting time to see the works of our hands leave the building going out to “Equip the Saints.”       

More Supplies for Jezreel International

Shalom Aleichem!  This is a  traditional Jewish greeting, meaning “peace unto you.”  Since we know the Prince of Peace, Our Lord Jesus Christ, it has  special meaning to us as Christians.

ETS had the opportunity recently to share this peace Christ offers to Jews in Israel, with a shipment we sent with Jezreel International. Wednesday night, October 10, we had members from 3 different Mennonite churches gather with us to load a 52 foot tractor trailer with clothing, hospital furniture and medical supplies.

We sent almost 16,000 pounds of clothing, 136 computers, gurneys, exam tables, cribs, over the counter medications and other medical and hospital items.  These items were requested by ministries in Israel, who want relief items to used for “after the war”.  (There is a  definite expectation in Israel that a battle is going to take place.      Although none of us want to see this happen, we are glad to be able to supply these much needed items for future use.)

We are commanded in Scripture to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.  Will you join us in praying this prayer, and in praying that the items we sent will be used for the glory of God and for the extension of His Kingdom?

Bye- bye clothing and medical supplies

Hardly a week goes by at ETS that we do not  receive a shipment of used clothing.  Our suppliers are people who have had a garage sale and bring us the left over clothing, consignment stores that have excess inventory, or clothing from individuals.   We are blessed with volunteers that sort each piece of clothing and  more volunteers who box it up for shipping.  

     We were very pleased to be able to ship out over 1000 boxes of clothing as well as medical relief supplies to Jezreel Ministries in New York.  This is our second shipment to Jezreel this year and we were very glad to have the help of our local Teen Challenge guys to help load the tractor trailer.

     One of the greatest privileges that we have is seeing materials and goods leave ETS for humanitarian relief of brothers and sisters throughout the world.  This shipment will benefit people in Eastern Europe.  We always enjoy praying over the contents and for those that will be  receiving them that they will come to know our Lord and Savior and be encouraged .

     We are saddened by the recent resignation of Earl Wilbers .  Earl has been with the ETS family for over 13 years and was our  primary pick up and delivery person.  Earl helped load this last container and will certainly be missed.  Please keep him in your prayers as he pursues  local employment opportunities .

Teen Challenge Boys

Teen Challenge boys

Teen Challenge was called that morning to see if they could send some guys to

help load the tractor trailer with clothing, shoes, blankets and materials for Jezreel Ministries in New York.

Work began about 11am.  Charlie and Earl swept out the container 3 times before they work could begin.  Teen Challenge sent 4 guys. 

 

All boxes were loaded and then medical equipment was loaded on (crutches, exam tables,  potty chairs, etc.)

The guys prayed over the truck and it’s contents before the door was closed.

Lunch and drinks provided by ETS.  Teen Challenge also given a microwave and      several DVD’s for their service.

ETS on the Move

No, ETS isn't moving but we did move out over 36,000 pounds of clothing, books, beds and medical supplies last month with the help of the Liberty Christian Boys Brigade of Maryland. The boys and their leaders drove down Friday night and we started loading the 53 foot tractor trailer at 9 AM Saturday Morning.

The tractor trailer was provided by Jezreel International, a faith based 501 C humanitarian aid organization based in New York. Jezreel International was started in 1996 as a response to seeing the dire straits of the poor in the former Soviet Union.

Currently they have shipped desperately needed medical and hospital supplies, food, clothing, personal care and hygiene products, toys, new shoes and sneakers to Israel and over 30 nations in need. In addition, they also have been a resource for area rescue shelters for battered women, drug addicts and alcoholics, pro-life pregnancy centers, inner-city ministries and veterans relief organizations. We wish to thank all the many groups of volunteers that gave so freely of their time to sort, box, and move the 1177 boxes of clothing and coats that were donated to this ministry. It was wonderful to see them loaded and then to have the opportunity to pray over the container and its contents before it was driven away.

We rely on our volunteers to help us meet the needs of missionaries world wide. If your youth group, small group, Bible study, civic group, church group or families are interested in volunteering for a Saturday or on a regular basis we would welcome your call to set up a specific time.
